SAWHL - Staunton, Augusta Co., Waynesboro Hockey League is a informal group of hockey enthusiast slowly trying to organize and build interest in ball hockey and inline hockey in the Augusta County Virginia area.
We hope to build community and interest in ball and inline street hockey with informal pickup games, seasonal league play, and have a easy way to form teams from the league to play in weekend tournaments but are still grass roots and getting more organized.

SAWHL will be welcoming to abilities including complete beginners with no hockey experience.
SAWHL is welcome to all genders, and LGBTQ+ friendly. All game play is currently Co-ed, we do allow intolerance or prejudice of any kind.
No gate keeping egos are allowed, hockey should be fun, the SAWHL is a place to have a good time and make you friends enjoying a wonderful sport.Â
Current Basic Rules for SAWHL Pickup games
Play is focused on Adults (18+), minors between the age of 15-17 yrs old can join but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult who is also actively playing.

#2 Rule: Be kind and welcoming to everyone
We have a zero tolerance for verbal abuse or fighting. Police will be called, and you will be banded from the league, informal or formal play permanently for fighting
Dek / Ball hockey is the default game play if enough people show up to do 3x3 or 4x4 games, ie, playing in sneakers (but bring inline skates if you own them!)
Basic Equipment Needed to Play: Street Hockey Stick with ABS blades, Sturdy Sneakers (shine guards, gloves, helmet, mouth guard optional)
Helmets are required for any inline game play of any kind
